Beat Cancer's A$$
On January 3rd, this nightmare began...the Irons family received the difficult news that Artie has throat cancer. That week a plan was made after meeting with the Jefferson team and the Journey started.
After some difficult obstacles, the plan changed a little which brings us to TODAY...2/11/2022...Surgery Day!
2/11/22 - 2:00pm - Dr called earlier robotics went great and started on neck - awaiting an update soon and will post. Keep the prayers coming.
2/11/22 - 4:00pm - out of surgery all went well. Cancer is out. Check back tomorrow for an update. …
2/12/22 - 8:45am - Krista spoke with Artie and he sure hasn’t lost his sense of humor. He may be coming home today if he is able to swallow. He is talking (mumbling) but communicating wonderfully. He even FaceTimed Alivia just now.

2/15/22 - Its been a couple of hard days and nights for Artie!!!! Pain and uncomfortableness set in hours after being released from the hospital. Lots of swelling and difficulty swallowing anything. Keep prayer coming. Thank you

A Special Thanks from Krista and the girls:
As many of you know, Artie’s surgery is tomorrow. Before we take on our greatest battle yet, I wanted to take a minute to thank those who have been reaching out and praying for my husband and family! A few of our friends started collecting donations to help with the treatments, surgeries and time Artie will be out of work for recovery. We never could’ve anticipated the generosity from this community and those that know and love Artie! It is truly more than we could have ever asked for. More importantly is the love and prayers being sent our way and all we can do is ask that you keep them coming! We wouldn’t be anywhere without this overwhelming support and love from everyone rallying behind us every step of the way! When life throws you challenges like these, the most important thing is knowing you have loved ones rooting for you. My family and I are so grateful that we have so many wonderful people in our lives that care about us and continue to show up for our family! Artie’s recovery surely won’t be an easy one, but with all the love and prayers being, he knows exactly what he is fighting for! Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough. But we hope you all know just how appreciative and grateful we are! Road to recovery starts NOW!! #IronsStrong #WeLoveYouAll #FCancer
